Life, Accident & Health

PARIS RE Life, Accident & Health premium income represents 6% of all written gross premiums. PARIS RE is a niche operator in this segment. Hence, we are attentive to serving our clients and have developed a solid commercial presence. We are also convinced that providing a prompt response to all our clients’ requests is a key factor to success.

One example of this success is the fact that PARIS RE is now considered a top player in the Middle East writing specific Group Life, Credit Life and Credit Shield covers.

In Latin America and the Caribbean, we will develop our presence over the coming years as we believe these markets have a great potential in this segment of our business. To support this strategy of development, PARIS RE Latin America (effective 1/1/2008 PARIS RE America Insurance Company) acquired on 19 October 2007, certain assets, including the brand name, of Radix Risk Management, LLC and welcomed on board highly experienced employees from Radix. PARIS RE and Olympus Managed Health Care, Inc., the main operating company of Olympus Healthcare Solutions, Inc., have also signed a client referral agreement. The strong presence built since 1993 through the establishment of our regional office in Miami to specifically cater to our Latin American and Caribbean markets, combined now with the acquisition of key assets of RADIX Risk Management, plus the client referral agreement signed with Olympus give us a stronger position to provide the right capacity, efficient administration and a genuine cost containment strategy for our clients’ health claims abroad. For Latin America and the Caribbean, PARIS RE America Insurance Company will be the issuing company for all products except those containing elements of pure life risk which will be issued on PARIS RE paper.

With respect to catastrophe business, PARIS RE is active worldwide with the exception of the United States.

PARIS RE is also involved in Medical Business, writing mainly non-proportional business in the Middle East and in Latin America. Our underwriting focus is on short tail business (12-month risks).

For non-proportional business, we write:

  • excess life and accident per head,
  • excess health per head and per claim,
  • excess life and accident per event.

For proportional business (quota share and surplus) as well as facultative, we write:

  • life (death / death and permanent disability),
  • accident (death / death and disability).

Our Key Strengths
